This 3' x 5' Polyester Flag is made from a light-weight but durable polyester with an open weave that reduces fabric stress and resists high winds. It is double-stitched all the way around and features brass grommets for hanging, attached to the flag with a reinforced header cloth for extra durability. The polyester fabric looks like a coarse cotton, resists fraying and is designed for indoor or outdoor use. This features a single-sided print in bright, vivid colors. Single-sided prints are printed on one side with a bleed through of about 90% color intensity on the back side; which means the graphics can still be seen but will be reversed.

The three silver fleur-de-lis on the blue field represents the French heritage of Acadiana, The fleurs-de-lis is a symbol of the kings of France. Louisiana was still under Spanish rule when the Acadians arrived. Since the Acadians thrived in Louisiana, a portion of the flag pays tribute to Spain. The gold tower on he red fields represents the Old Arms of Castille, an affluent European Spanish Kingdom. The gold start on the white field symbolizes Our Lady of the Assumption, patron saint of Acadiana (the star also symbolizes the active participation of the Canjuns in the Mexican Revolution, as soldiers under General Bernardo Bernardo de Galvez, Spanish governor of Louisiana).
