When it comes to the presentation tools needed in the classroom, office, or for advertising purposes, there are always new ways being found to do it. Most people are familiar with dry erase boards, or whiteboards, as these have been around for decades now and have often been used in presentations due to their cleanliness, their reduction of waste, and because they’re so easy to use. But now new applications such as liquid chalk markers and wet erase markersare now being introduced and discovered by many. So what are these new forms of writing instruments?
Liquid chalk markers are things that are relatively new. These markers work much like chalk, but they eliminate a lot of the mess and hassle that comes with using chalk. When regular chalk is used, your hands can often be left full of chalk dust, along with all the dust that has fallen off the board and onto your clothing while writing on the board. Liquid chalk markers however, are writing instruments that combine chalk dust with a liquid so they can be applied like regular markers. Once the liquid chalk marker has dried, it will return to dust form and can then be wiped off with a chalkboard eraser. Often a dry erase marker will also remove liquid chalk marker from a board.
Most people have used a dry erase marker at some point, and many have also used a wet erase marker, even if they haven’t realized it at the time. These markers are used for writing on transparencies that are used with an overhead projector. These markers are specially designed to hold up when they are placed under the hot bulb of the projector. Unlike dry erase markers however, wet erase markers need to be erased using a damp cloth or sponge.
Many liquid chalk and wet erase markers are now being combined into one, so a full set of either can sometimes be used on either a chalkboard or on a transparency.
