 Dry Erase Marker
The humble dry erase marker started out life in the sales and marketing business several years ago, as a replacement for using a permanent pen on large sheets of paper for sales managers or orators to make drawings and notes to assemblies of medium size.
before the dry erase pen, their only thing was to pack in a very large black board and use dusty chalk, but this method was seldom feasible, especially when traveling. Their next choice was a big sheet of paper clamped to an easel, to which, facts and figures and drawings were made with a permanent marker or grease pen. When travelling for any period of time, a lecturer or sales manager could require 100's of sheets of paper in the form of tablets of large format paper.
With the advent of the dry erase marker this all changed. Now, calculations, notes and images can be applied to a light weight dry erase board, then simply wiped right off with a dry towel or regular eraser. With the dry erase marker, the dry erase board can be used repeatedly. With no bulky chalkboard, no messy chalk and no reams of large format paper to contend with, the dry erase marker was an overnight success.
It didn't take long until educators discovered the dry erase marker for classroom use. First for the educator in general lectures and illustrations, but, then, for the student. Since dry erase boards were cheapin and light weight, even small children could have their own personal 8"x 11" dry erase tablet to work on using a non-toxic, low odor dry erase pen.
Of course, today a dry erase pen comes in a variety sizes, shapes & colors. There isn't a doubt the dry erase pen is the most common type of pen manufactured in the world.
